Underwear Don’ts for Men
Just because you think no one else knows or will know the condition of your underwear, it is okay to wear just anything underneath. You will never know when “accidents” will happen and you will find yourself down to your skivvies. How embarrassing if you’re caught wearing stained or tattered briefs underneath a spiffy suit. Here are some underwear don’ts to keep you out of an awkward situation:
Don’t wear stained undergarments
It’s a fact that white undergarments, briefs or undershirt get these yellow stains after several months of use. The stain could be due to deodorant stains that are difficult to remove, dry sweat marks or even stains from a hot dryer. They may be very clean, but they don’t look it. Stained undergarments are a bit off-putting and being caught and seen in one can cause a lot of discomfiture, especially if it’s the girl you are trying to get to bed is the audience.
Don’t hang on to scruffy and worn underwear
Even a tiny hole on the crotch of your boxer or a slightly frayed waistline on your briefs is a big turn-off. Throw away underwear with the slightest sign of wear and replace it with new ones.
Don’t wear dirty underclothes
Dirty underclothes are unhealthy, unhygienic and yucky and at times smell also. Don’t ever wear dirty underwear. it is the height of sloppiness and lack of care for ones person and hygiene.
Don’t wear underwear made of cotton at the gym
At the gym, you sweat profusely and for sure your underwear will get soaked, not a very nice feeling for sure. Your best bet is a jock strap that will not only support and protect the “king’s jewel” but also give you a freer and more comfortable feel as you do all those extraneous exercises at the gym
Don’t allow your undershirt to show
An untucked undershirt is untidy to look at and will leave the impression of sloppiness and lack of care for how you look or appear to others. So is an undershirt sleeve peeping out of a shirt’s sleeve. They are underwear because they have to be worn “under” and concealed.
Men’s Fashion Trends 2012
To continue with the men’s fashion trend for 2012 as presented in the Milan/Paris spring 2012 collection, one thing that became apparent is the tendency of men’s fashion to follow women’s fashion. In lieu of women’s lace, creative male designers came up with open weave mesh knitwear. Cropped trousers for men were all over the place just as Capri pants and cropped pants are the rage for women. Even color, prints, texture and fabric trends duplicate each other. So guys, take a look at what to expect for summer of 2012 and take your pick:

Netwear
This alternative to women’s lace is racy yet very chic and classy, a great way to cool the flesh in the heat of summer with some flesh showing. But for the unpredictable spring weather, an open weave see through mess shirt is one fantastic layering item. Wear it under a linen coat with slithery and sexy lining or under a chic cashmere overcoat. But netwear was not all shirts, it was used to line jackets, or jackets, shorts, sweaters, tracksuits or details of clothing items.
Cropped trousers
Continuing with last year’s trend of rolled up cuffs, designers came up with a wide range of crop pants for 2012 that is strongly evocative of the late 50s male and female fashion in America. From the runways, cropped pants were paired with jackets sans socks or for that rocker look, crop pants with socks and boots. Even suits were made with crop pants, which is not a welcome idea for the work place but perfect for play.
Leather & suede
Leather never went out of trend but it has been modified with the use of softer leather materials and done in a wide spectrum of colors from deep blue to plush cognac. The entry of suede gives spirit to the relax mood of the season. Photo Copyright of PR PHOTOS
Italian Fashion Trends for Men 2012
Elegance is the essence of Italian life. Most Italians will give up anything to achieve elegance. Fashion to Italians is almost an obsession. All you need to do is to sit around the piazzas or side walk cafés and watch the Italian males strut around in their latest sartorial elegance. Maybe this is the reason why some of the most famous fashion designers are either Italians or are based in Italy.
Italian fashion usually heralds the fashion trends that the rest of the world follows. These are usually trends that flaunt the wearer’s best assets and conceal the imperfections. But Italians are also very sensible people, they do follow trends but they also are conscious about durability, timelessness and authenticity of their clothes. For Italians, clothes are not everything. Italian fashion is a way of life, a mind-set of classiness, custom-made and smoothness.

It pays to be aware of the Italian fashion trend if a guy wants to be ahead in the fashion game. And it is not difficult to know what the Italians are wearing, it is very easily available. A click of an internet button, a peek at all the most exclusive boutiques, even a stroll at all the big shopping malls, Italian fashion will confront you.
One of the most well-known Italian fashion houses is Dolce & Gabbana founded by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana who are as prolific in their designs today as when they started. They offer not only clothes but also accessories such as perfume, sun glasses and the like for both men and women. The Dolce & Gabbana Fall/Winter 2011/2012 collection was focused around unconventional tailoring in texture, color and dimensions inspired by innovative fashion icon and musician Bryan Ferry. This eccentric chic is explicitly articulated in a short red jacket paired with trousers with a loose fit and tight cuff.
The House of Valentino, another celebrated Italian fashion house, on the other hand, incorporated contemporary edge to sartorial elegance. Their fall/winter collection is centered on fine tailoring and luxurious knits – outerwear with leather and fur details, warm customized cashmere cardigans, leather peacoats, duffel jackets and classic suits. Men’s Fashion in the 60s
The 60s was an era of change. It was an era of upheaval and revolution; from the civil rights movement to the hippie movement, the era was shaped by significant events that changed the world forever. One area that had a total transformation was men’s fashion. From the simple classic looks of the past generations, men’s fashion opened up to give men more options than the traditional suit and tie. Here are some clothing items that were popular as men’s fashion in the 60s:
Turtlenecks
A turtleneck is a high tube-like rolled-down collar that fits tightly around the neck. It is also the term used for garments such as a sweater with this kind of collar. Turtlenecks became an essential and indispensable part of a man’s wardrobe in the 60s. They were worn with almost anything – a blazer, a vest, a sweater or on its own. Turtlenecks also came in a wide variety of colors but the beatniks preferred black.
Mandarin or Nehru Collar
A Mandarin or Nehru collar is a short extended stand-up collar that starts at the neckline and normally augments by two or five centimeters. In the men’s fashion of the 60s it was used for shorts and jackets and was a great favorite of The Monkees, The Beatles and Dr. Evil.

Fashion Tips for Men, How to Wear Board Shorts
Men wear board shorts not only to surf, or on the beach but everywhere this summer. It definitely is not the swim trunks that we are familiar with. For young people, board shorts have become a summer staple and even a fashion statement. Learn to wear it well and look great this summer:

• Make sure that your board short has a perfect fit at the waist to prevent it from sliding off, but is loose enough down the hem. The fitted waist is to ensure that it does not come off while you are doing your fantastic surf maneuvers. For those who will use a board short while surfing, the extra room will make surfing maneuvers smooth and easy. Even if you are not a surfer the roomier hem will facilitate getting out of the pool or climbing out from the back seat of a car.
• Get yourself board shorts made of a material that is a mix of lycra and cotton. The pliable fabric will make it more comfortable while you surf since fabric tends to stick to the body. Again, if you don’t surf but wears board short as casual wear, a stretchy board short is more comfortable to wear then those made of cotton or some cotton variety. These cotton board shorts chaff the skin and are more inclined to rip. There is no dignity to a rip board short and having a rip on your short can be very embarrassing
• Choose darker color board shorts, especially if you plan to wear it to swim on the beach or the pool and of course while surfing. Light colors such as yellow, white, tan and light blue may expose more of your masculine assets than you want to show. Board short tends to outline the body when wet. Photo Copyright of PR PHOTOS
Velvet Suits and Velvet Jackets for Men
For men who like to stand out in a crowd and dress to impress, the velvet suit should be their choice of evening attire. Velvet as a suiting material is not exactly a new trend but for the 2011 fall fashion, it has become one of the season’s essential fabric for suits or jackets that are meant to be statement outfits.

A velvet suit when don right adds sex appeal to the wearer. The rich and opulent quality of the material gives a velvet suit an elegant and luxuriant quality that cannot be matched by the finest wool. But to take full advantage of the benefits of velvet, a velvet suit should have a perfect fit. A poorly fitted velvet suit is such a waste and a shame since it won’t do anything for the wearer’s image.
For men who are not too confident about wearing a full velvet suit, there is always the velvet sports jacket or velvet sports coat that can be paired with pants of any material. When worn with the same perfect fit, a velvet sports jacket will have the same impressive effect as the full velvet suit.
Since a velvet suit or even just a velvet sports jacket is more suitably worn in the evenings and for formal occasions, having them in dark colors is logical. Dark need not be black, this season’s velvet suits and velvet sports coats come in grey, navy, burgundy or plum.
Another way to rock the velvet trend is with a velvet lapel on a suit jacket. It is just as attractive and eye-catching as a full velvet suit or a velvet sports coat but more low-key and understated. Choose a sports jacket with a peaked velvet lapel rather than the shawl or notched cut lapel. A peak lapel is the ultimate in masculinity and stylishness. It is the only type of lapel that is best for formal wear.
The Cotton Suit, Great Fashion Item for Trendy Men
The cotton suit and suits made of other natural fibers are gaining a lot of popularity again ever since high – end designers such as Paul Smith, Giorgio Armani, Zegna, Ralph Lauren’s Black Label and Etro included the cotton suit in their latest fashion collection. A good thing is that suits made of cotton are very comfortable and cool. Cotton fabric is a light and breathable material that makes for a snug and comfortable fit. Since cotton is an inexpensive fabric, cotton suits are normally cheaper than suit made of lightweight wool.

The cotton suit is the solution to guys who sweat a lot in their formal wear as the weather becomes hotter. And most cotton suits these days are made of cotton materials that are less prone to wrinkles, a disadvantage of cotton. Cotton suits also come in a wide array of colors, not only the classic white made popular by Don Johnson in the TV action series, Miami Vice. To add to the versatility of cotton suits is its facility to be worn as separate clothing items.
Cotton suit is a major trend this year, and as predicted to be in years to come. It has become a wardrobe essential and a great alternative to lightweight wool or tweed suits. This season’s cotton suit is appropriate as office wear as well as evening attire. A khaki colored cotton suit jacket will look great paired with skinny jeans and worn with a colored tee or bright polo shirt. It is also the perfect suit for the preppy look worn with a shirt and tie completed with boat shoes or handsome dress shoes. Some fashion gurus also believe that cotton suits are also good not only for summer but also in the transitional months before and after summer. Photo Copyright of PR PHOTOS
